We are living in the technical era. Everything we do is dictated by technology and we cannot do something as simple as getting in touch with our loved ones without depending on technology to help us along the way.
Every year, we experience brand new advancements in the world of technology that leave us all shocked. What we are now able to do with technology is amazing and if you look back just twenty years ago, nobody could have ever imagined that technology would have reached the point that it has.
When we look at the future, it doesn’t seem too ridiculous that we would have technology such as hovercrafts, as what we are capable of now shows that it will one day be possible. It is also predicted that technology will one day be able to take the place of humans in difficult jobs and it is already happening today. If you look at factories, jobs that were once completed by humans are now being done by devices that can get the job done.
Though this may be very convenient, some people are worried that they will one day lose their job in place of technology. If you are choosing your career path, you may want to go with something that you know will not be able to be replaced by technology. Here are 5 jobs that cannot be taken over by technology.
Lawyer
A well-paid job that will never be able to be taken over by technology is the role of a lawyer. As a lawyer, something that you have to be able to do is look at information and deduce the answers from said information. Robots will never be able to have the analytic and moral skills to be able to do this and this is why a career as a lawyer is secure.
Roofer
Manual labor jobs such as roofing is something that will never be able to be replaced by technology but can be assisted by technology to make it easier. Thanks to technology, you can now get roof repair at affordable prices as it does not take too long for roofers to complete the work. Robots do not have the comprehension skills to figure out if there are any changes that need making to fit the shape of certain roofs and other important factors.
Social Worker
As a social worker, it is your responsibility to be emotionally available and empathetic towards the children and families that you work with. Empathy is something that robots and technology will never be capable of and this is why humans will always have this job role. Social workers need to be able to communicate with children and make them feel comfortable and a child isn’t exactly going to feel inclined to share their emotions with an emotionless robot. When it comes to robots, for the safety of humans it is important that we never teach them emotions and so they will never be able to be social workers.
Writer
Now, there is some technology out there that is able to process situations and then create pieces of writing to reflect this. The problem is that the text that is produced is often full of errors and does not exactly make sense. The issue with robots is that they have no imagination and so they are not capable of producing the same kind of work as most writers. Most writers create from their heart and they put their imagination to paper, which is something that robots are not capable of doing.
Human Resources
Within every company, it is very important that there is a human resources worker that can ensure that all workers are feeling comfortable and secure in their role. Human resources can not exactly be managed by a robot, as you need to be able to have an understanding of the emotions of the workers and you have to be able to empathize with them, which is something that robots are simply not capable of. Humans would also find it odd for them to be managed by robots, as it does not make a lot of sense for the things that we created to have control over us.
